Having started in 1986, the Hayling Charity Cycle Ride is now in its 34th year and this year’s challenge is a 375 mile long cycle from Ouistreham to Cherbourg. To date the Hayling Charity Cycle Ride has raised over £1.5million for local and national charities, and attracts riders from 15 different countries. This years route is as follows:
Day 1 – Caen to Evreux (Distance: 89 miles, Climb: 5,000 feet)
Day 2 – Evreus to Chartres (Distance: 65 miles, Climb: 2,100 feet)
Day 3 – Chatres to Lisieux (Distance: 85 miles, Climb: 2,500 feet)
Day 4 – Lisieux to Bayeux (Distance: 67 miles, Climb: 2,600 feet)
Day 5 – Bayeux to Cherbourg (Distance: 67 miles, Climb: 2,500 feet)
We are completing this challenge to benefit an Animal Charity which is local to us - the Re-homing Animal Telephone Service - who rehome Dogs, Cats, Rabbits and Guinea Pigs into safe, loving homes. If you would like to donate towards the event please click HERE

Following a quiz night on behalf of Rats we have received a cheque from the Gt Amwell Woman's club for £600 what a fantastic result and many thanks to all the ladies who took part

If you have any that you would like to donate please bring them along to our Biggleswade shop, were they will gratefully received it is located at 15b Hitchen St , Biggleswade, SG188AX which is open most days 10.00am till 4.00pm ( unfortunately they cannot be accepted for purchases in the shop ) many thanks for any support
We would like to warn everybody about the dangers of the new and more virulent form of Viral Haemorrhagic Disease, RHD, rabbits can die in hours from this blood disease, there is a new vaccine for it that can be given in addition to the combined Myxomatosis/VHD vaccine, our small mammals vet has stressed how important this vaccine is for all rabbits.
"Due to lack of rabbit foster homes, the charity will not taking in any more rabbits for the foreseeable future and will not be holding a waiting list. Should anyone in the Bedford area be interested in fostering rabbits, then please contact the helpline. Guinea pigs, gerbils and hamster will continue to be rehomed as before."
We would like to thank The Wormley St Lawrence Lodge 9621 in Hertfordshire for their kind donation of £300 to Rats, the money will all go to the animals in our care many thanks to all who contributed.
